Doing a little plugging here, but Kurt has made me a vvti 1JZ dump pipe - I supplied a factory one and he's made this up for me. The welds look brilliant, it's much lighter and should make a few extra kw's too. Will be good for my ceramic turbo as it'll get rid of the heat quicker.

if anyone else with a vvti 1JZ is interested, they should contact Kurt Atzmuller

I'll get it fitted very shortly and soon after - Cihan is going to tune it ready for the dyno day Costa is organizing in August:

I've not dynoed it, but proof of the pudding is in seat of the pants feel, though I am sure that anything has to be better than stock

Very nice.

Curious, what does the stock one look like?

It has a large cat at the lower flange, is very heavy as well.
I've given it back to James already, i'll see if he can put a pic up of it.

Yes it does. James has one further down on his exhaust system.

is the flex pipe necessary, or is it just there to make fitting easier?

Flex pipe is there to prevent cracking

You can leave it out but it does soak up vibration and reduce's the risk of cracking.

Just an observation of mine, but it seems vvti owners do not modify their cars to the same extent as non vvti owners. They do go well from stock, but I'm always interested in making whatever I drive go faster!

Got it fitted today. MASSIVE difference, turbo spools much quicker, it's louder but not by heaps - so there is no drone on the highway @100km/h.

If you have a vvti and you don't have one of these and you've still got the stock one. I urge you to change it! You won't be disappointed.
