Hello Team,

Well i ended up deciding on a set of wheels i wanted (thanks Morgan for the inspiration) and bought a set from tempe tyres.

I originally was goin to get 18s in a wide pack but they had none left so they offered me the 19s in wide pack for a lil bit more (but still alot less than what they normally sell for) so i took it.

They arrived very quickly, i placed my order and payed on wednesday (bout 10:30 QLD time) and they arrived at lunch time today!

So yeh they are Starcorp Racing . IMPUL 19"
I have 235/35/19 on the front
and 265/30/19 on the rear
Offset - +38 ( CUE GASPING WHEEL NAZIS )

Now all i gotta do is bring my lil white moon buggy back down to earth with some springs (will also do my bushes at that stage)

Also gotta just play a lil with my cooler piping so it doesnt rub when turning right (more than one spin of the wheel over)

anyways, pics follow

Cheers mate,

Well not really, but then again i dont have much to compare with apart from ASLAV wheels which weigh sumfin like 250kg each !!

My mate who helped me put em on (he works at Mercury Motorsport) he said he thought they were pretty light for 19s...

but yeh, i didnt weigh em but i doubt they are in the lightweight wheel category

My friend has been dreaming of those rims for so long haha. I want a set of the ones next to those on the tempe site in 18's. What is wrong with the offset also? I thought soarers were around +40 offset

Just FYI, those wheels aren't from Starcorp. They're actually made by Zenetti. I don't know why Tempe would badge them as Starcorps though? Idiots.

You can find them here on the
Zenetti Website

A few members have these wheels and they can turn out very nice depending on what the rest of the car looks like :-)

Vinh, your a bit confused mate, the Zenetti is NOT the starcorp. They're somewhat similar in that they have 5 spokes but there the similarity end.

I suggest you have another look.

Um. So you're telling me the wheels Kim posted is not the same wheels that I posted? They are the SAME except Kim's are shadow chrome, whilst mine are full chrome.

Have a look for yourself.

Mate, even Tempe say that Kim's wheels are made by Zenetti.
Tempe Tyres' link

I don't see how you can say otherwise as I researched these wheels extensively before I purchased them myself. Hell, Tempe even gave me the Starcorp wheel caps for some reason.

Hi guys,

Cheers for the thoughts.

Im pretty happy that i went for the 19s now that i think about it, they look very nice and fill the soarer's guards nicely.

Morgan used to be a member of this forum, he has some in shadow chrome on his Soarer

Lew - I look forward to seeing you soon mate and your wife with her new toys.... ok TOY (sorry)

Now all i gotta do is get my bushes replaced and a good wheel alignment (and some Dumping) and ill be happy. Gotta play with my cooler piping also.

Oh and for the guy who PM'd me asking what an ASLAV is:

Nice dish :-)

Offset isn't such a big deal - I've had +50, +40, +38 and +35 on my car and the only difference I've noticed is the 50's felt a t-i-n-y bit lighter in the steering. 38's and 35's look the best as they actually come close to the wheel arch and don't look sunken in. Sacrilege to the purists though!

lol @ Alan....

Well the rims i just removed from my car had +9 offset on the front and +14 on the rear and they were fine to drive on !

The fronts stuck out a lil from the guards but the rears sat magically. *see for sale section*

If your bushes were shot it probably wouldn't make much difference what offset you run.

meh,

offset offshmet... they ran fine and looked tough.

My rear guards have been rolled, but it didnt really need it as it was stock ride hight. Front havent been touched, but i doubt i woulda been able to lower it much.

OLD rims plus some other stuff now for sale, check For Sale Section (obviously)

James, I lowered my car about 1.5" and the rear rims scrubbed / rubbed horribly with these in 18's and R18/35/265 tyres. You will most definately run into the same problem with the 19" version.

Do what I did, just go get your rear guards rolled and lipped, should cost $50-80 per corner depending where you go and it'll fix it up nicely.

Great rims btw, you have good taste! :-)

My guards have already been rolled so i may get away with it i hope.

It goes into fulcrum on Tuesday for a check up, then ill decide what im goin to do. Depending on how good their prices are i may go some Tein Coilovers... but i doubt it, prob just new bushes and some springs OH and a wheel alignment
