Yes JZA80 Suspension does fit into a JZ30 soarer. I have a set of coilovers in there now. I am unsure about converting a 31 to coils. I know that it has been done, try having a search of the fourm.
Lance it is really up to you as to what you want from them. What are you wanting to do with the car??
Mine are rock hard, pain on the bad roads here in Sydney, but on the track, is where it is at.

Adam and I ripped out his air bags in his '31 (may it RIP) and put some Teins in it. All the bolt holes are the same mate, so just find yourself some coilovers for a z30 or a80 and you'll be sweet.

Easy as anything.
I got the suspension off a TT and replaced the air bags with those.
Front is a bit cumbersome as you need to remove the splash shields to get the bold for the lower control arm out to get the shocks out/in, but the rears are done very quickly. Once you finished, tape up the ends of the air hoses (just in case) and pull the fuse for the 'susp' out in the fusebox front left in engine room.
hey guys, my front left air shock suspension just cracked so my car is rather lopsided... i am trying to find a second hand air shock from a soarer but from what i have read is it possible to use different suspension to fit the air bag suspension?? cheers!
