hi guys,
The sway bar linkage arm thingy Part number 48820 what is that part called?
What would cause it to become dry in the joints and snap right through the middle of the bar??
break is in red.
I went through a round a bout the other week at @ 15kph (slow) and there was an earth shattering kaboom. It was this part which had let go. On inspection it was pretty hammered meaning the 'ball joint' was dry and rigid. It snapped clean through and i am concerned and baffled as to what the cause was/is??

Don,
The same (well, similar) part is lose on my rear sway bar. It is stripped and therefore I can't tighten it up. Is it the same part name as the front? I have to ring a suspension place to order a replacement to fit my aftermarket sway bars and have no idea what to ask for.

I had an issue with my rear links, in that the locking clip ended up bending and so it didn't lock anymore Ended up using Camry ones, which were free and work just fine

Don, I figured as much. Thanks anyway.
I ended up getting the old one off and welding the errant locking tab into place so it could be reused. Now I have my nice new adjustable sway bars and no knocking from the suspension what-so-ever. Car feels a hell of a lot 'tighter' now too.

That reminds me, time to get back under the car and check all nuts, bolts fittings etc now they've had a chance to settle in and rattle loose(if they are going to).

Has anyone purchased the below from AutoChassisPartner before...they say on their page that they only produce OEM aftermarket parts to the highest quality...just wondering if the parts would be as reliable as genuine factory ones?
They also list the Manufacturer Part Number: 48820-24010

Thanks Dave for confirming, the original ones from Toyota are way too expensive even at cost price, so these seem to be a good alternative as long as they are solid and reliable...

Now this is an old thread...
The locking tab was spinning on the knurled shaft. I therefore could not tighten the link, and keep it tight. This was fixed with a spot weld. Has lasted the last 18 months just fine.

Didn't notice the dates of the original post, but at the end of the shaft there is a hole for an allen key designed to hold the shaft while you tighten the nut.
