will trd sway bars made for the jza80 supra fit onto my jzz30 tt 1jz ??

Upload

Item #: trd sway bars

These are the newly released TRD front and rear sway bars for the JZA80 Supra. 27% stiffer than stock, providing just that much control. Perfect for street cars that want to have a tout suspension for the street and road racing or Auto-X.

Fronts should bolt in however the rears have different subframe mounts.

Not sure if the TRD bars need different mounts over the stock bars etc.

cheers matt.

so the front bar will be a simple task but the rear will require a little modification.
will a skilled 'mechanic' or 'tuner' be able to put the rear one in without needing any new parts or will i have to buy new mounts for the rear ??

if anyone has trd sway bars i am very interested in knowing how you went with the rear.

Both are pretty straight forward to install but you will definitely need new rear subframe mounts.

You can reuse the end links but it would be worth swapping those out for new ones as well in my opinion.

You will need the physical mounts, bushes for these mounts, worth doing new end links as well.

It's a pretty straight forward job. The old endlinks can be hard to get off so soak them in wd40 or whatever overnight and clamp them with visegrips to prevent them from spinning.

Not sure if there are any aftermarket end links available. They are effectively a solid connection so no possible improvement in the aftermarket area that I could see.

i read that link about the trd sway bars and just wanted to know if the part numbers listed were applicable here in australia ?
i gave those part numbers to the guy at toyota and he had a little trouble finding them.
just to clarify i purchase the 2 rear subframe mounts with the bushes for them included ?

I spoke to Andy from Car Torque who said that Whiteline has some JZZ30 specific sways. The front is apparently more difficult than the rear.

However he believes they are no longer producing them so it's really a matter of grabbing what stock they have left.

Ha ha ah ok sorry mate - at least with TRD you know it's going to be good.

Let us know how you find them. That way I'll be able to decide whether I'll be getting mine or not.
