I have as a few may have a faded grey dash. It is kind of a green-ish fade. So last week i took the whole thing out so i didn't have to mess around with masking my whole interior and the smell. Took pictues along the way was not as bad as i had thought it would be. Will have them up in a week or so all explained with photos.

I did this a couple of months ago, but only thought of taking photos when it was already out. It came out a lot easier than expected.

Huh. I thought I was the only one confused with my should-be-grey-but-is-kinda-green interior. I'll be interested in the process and the results.

Ya at first i thought it was just me with noticing the colour maybe my eyes or something. But then finally a few people did notice it and i found some key things inside where the door closes on it was still grey and hidden spots from the sun. It is a lot easier than it seem just does take some time.

$700 for a windscreen! Might want to shop around at that price. |

Unfortunatly, that is basically the cheapest I could get. It is a Toyota sheild, and I live in Canada, it isn't as easy as having one done any day due to needing it imported Lexus/Toyota do only recognize a few part numbers that are the same from the soarer to sc.

A complete dash removal tutorial would be a great asset. The Lexus one is for a left hand drive and not very easy to follow. Cheers

Yeah i agree that Lexus one isn't the best and it is missing so many parts.

Yes, but it is an exceptionally good starting point! When Adam totalled his v8 we took nearly 2 days to strip the car back to the fire wall! Obviously be a bit quicker the next time around but that tut does highlight a few of the things that we missed and were scratching our heads over.

Sorry boys, i'm a little behind on the bodywork and prep work on the car its going in the booth on September 8th will be able to do the tutorial a few days a week tops after that. I apoligize greatly for the delay. |

Unfortunately I have not yet, my parts for the doors are still not here. The car has been put on hold for a few weeks or so more, which sucks balls. It would be dope if i could get it all done soon, it's just been a pain taking longer than i had wanted it to cause of the windshield Definitely by spring haha. I should be getting the parts in a few weeks so i will go from there. My apologies.

I hope someone gets creative one day and makes a new style dash from mdf and fibreglass while still retaining all the soarer functions, that would be pretty full on! Someone buy a half-cut to practice on hehe

So you can die when you crash the car? Sounds like fun! lol MDF and fibreglass dash would splinter to all hell in a decent impact, definately not what you'd want flying around you! |

That's true but it would be kinda interesting to see someone attempt a project like that, more as a show car than a daily driver.

I am sooooo pi$$ed at myself..... I just did a black interior conversion on cup weekend, took EVERYTHING out. Would not have been difficult to take a few pics, write a quick few instructions and post it up. Then I would have been IMMORTALISED on SC!!!!! Might have to buy another soarer and do it again.......

That can be done for a custom car on the dash, as well as for a daily driver someone wants to really customize. The dash can be done with mdf wrapped with fleece Fleece then hardened, fiberglassed and wrapped with vinyl.
