I'm not sure if anyone will really benefit from this here Soarers have computerised ignition, but anyhow.. I hate setting timing. It's such a pain in the ass to read accurately off the little metal gauge on the block. This thing is way better. It has a digital tacho so it's easy to set your idle speed and centrifugal advance speeds. Then you just dial up the initial advance you want on the light, and adjust the dizzy til the harmonic balancer hits zero. To check centrifugal and vac advance is just as easy. Hold the engine at the right speed and then dial in the reading til the block gauge is zeroed. Reads to 10rpm and 0.1 degrees. Bought it brand new off eBay USA, and including airmail it was $105 Aussie. Worth every cent, and way cheaper than here. Great quality.

Nah only blowing the 350. I don't have the patience for fitting a BB in there. Too much messing about making an HEI dizzy fit right next to the firewall, and modding the sump so it will fit around the drag link, and the steering box next to the headers. Shame cos I can get 454s for cheap. The Bird has a bored out Poncho 455 in it though. Maybe blow that one day too. All fun and games. Gonna get into it a bit more now that I've quit working.

Yup 7529. Bought it off tradervar. EXCELLENT shipping speed. He has it on best offer, I offered $60 twice. He took it and shipped it must have been same day. It is a sweet light. I ran a little bit of silver paint down the groove in the balancer and it lit it up like a christmas tree, even in a well lit shop. Ditto on everything here being overpriced. Cheapest one I found that I thought would work was $300. Actron I believe bought out Sun so I guess they are kinda a name brand if there is such a thing any more. Neil Mate down here has a centrifugal supercharged 540 in a 70 Camaro. It's.. a little fast. Those gen 1 RS's are hard to beat for muscular looks tho. There was a black one a while back with a marine 454, and all the hide away headlight grills hand made. It looked absolutely nuts. It was all I could do to not buy it. Those are THE muscle/pony car IMHO.
