Fellow Soarer enthusiasts,

Today while unlocking my 3 month old, problem free Soarer, something happened. I lifted the driver's door handle (outside) to hear a small "pop" noise and then felt all of the resistance in the handle give way, apart from the spring which tensions the handle itself.

Further, when I wind my window down, somehow when it gets about a third of the way down, it opens the door and won't go any further. The lock had been a bit stubborn of late, someimtes the key would not go in properly and require jiggling around.

There is no visible damage to the door or lock, but it seems to me that the barrel on the inside of the lock has simply fallen off, although the door can be operated from the inside.

Can anyone help? Is this one for a locksmith or a DIY? I'm fairly handy, but locks scare me!!

Thanks in advance guys.

The rods come free of the handle, the white clip holding it has probably broken. And it would be a good idea to stop using the window before you break the rod......

Do a search, its been covered quite a bit before

Edit: Since I'm bored
