Hey

Check out this mouldable funnel, might save us getting oil all over the engine mounts!

Yeah I agree looks handy and good, but (always a but :-)) I generally when taking the oil fillter off take it off very very slowly so it trickles out.

I guess this can save time. Think I just talked myself into on lol.

Nah, for the V8, just cut a milk carton as per my tutorial. Works a treat, just did an oil and filter change a couple of days ago, didn't spill a drop.

ok here's the problem boys if you have a TT you would know that to get to the oil filter you have to reach up through the LCA and various other things i cant remember now and when you crack the filter you will get covered in oil and so will the cross member just the way its designed
but the clincher is that the TT is faster then the V8 so i guess were still ahead

Next time you change it donot over tighten it ,just a 1/4 turn after it stops turning with fingers.

pretty smart idea.

i normal just get a big long flat nose screw driver and tap a dent in the side of the filter then tap the filter in an anti-clockwise manner to loosen it off, beats climbing under the car and working up wards

i only do this because i'm not reusing the filter so dont care if its damaged, but i still get oil all over the engine mounts/ground. normally just throw a towel down there.

I use K&N oil filters :-) 1 inch nut on the end of it to help with removal if its ever over tightened . ( which it shouldnt be, as i do it up by hand )

Luck of the draw i guess. I've had this thing for years now and it hasn't given me any trouble. Mind you, I'd like to change the hoses for some rubber ones. The braided nonsense will eat through just about anything you let it rub up against.

The battery's in the boot. I think that was one of the first things I did when I got the car.
