Nah, for the V8, just cut a milk carton as per my tutorial. Works a treat, just did an oil and filter change a couple of days ago, didn't spill a drop.

ok here's the problem boys if you have a TT you would know that to get to the oil filter you have to reach up through the LCA and various other things i cant remember now and when you crack the filter you will get covered in oil and so will the cross member just the way its designed but the clincher is that the TT is faster then the V8 so i guess were still ahead

pretty smart idea.
i normal just get a big long flat nose screw driver and tap a dent in the side of the filter then tap the filter in an anti-clockwise manner to loosen it off, beats climbing under the car and working up wards
i only do this because i'm not reusing the filter so dont care if its damaged, but i still get oil all over the engine mounts/ground. normally just throw a towel down there.

Luck of the draw i guess. I've had this thing for years now and it hasn't given me any trouble. Mind you, I'd like to change the hoses for some rubber ones. The braided nonsense will eat through just about anything you let it rub up against.
