OK i got some more info.
Unfortunately they only come in the one style at this stage (i.e no rolled lips or custom tips), but they come in 2 sizes being 2.5" and 3". They come with two key rings, flanges with gaskets and the required wiring which is 12v and can plug in to a cigarette lighter.
Have no idea of the actual quality of the muffler but quoted price was $450 which i thought wasn't bad.
I asked about getting discount on a group buy and he said this would be possible. Anyone got any experience with these or know of their quality?

I'm doing a similar thing in that I'm retaining the stock exhaust system and adding an Electric Exhaust Cutout. Controllable from in cabin.
Stock near silent exhaust or 3" straight pipe off my dumps. at the touch of a button. Here in Alberta it's legal to run a car without Cat's so no legality issues.
And the only noise restriction we have is if the exhaust is excessively loud by the judgment of the cop. Fortunately there are a host of riced out civics running around that I can conveniently blame any excessive noise on.

Hi guys, Just letting you know I have fitted a 3" Varex muffler to my system and am very happy with it. My current setup is full single 3" exhaust (with standard dump pipes). On closure, the exhaust is comparable to a stock car eg camry, commodore (i am not sure how it would compare to a standard soarer as i have never been in one). Its really suprising how much it quietens it down considering that when it opens up... its as loud as hell.. Highly recommended. Any questions feel free to ask.

I've just had my QTEC put into a new custom 3" down/mid pipe. Similar experience, Closed the exhaust flows through the entire stock exhaust system and is silent. Open i have 3 feet of straight pipe and that's it.

Got any more informaition about your exhaust Scott? id love to see a pic of it.
I guess this would be perfect for the sleeper guys. Silent for driving and when you are ready to boot it. restriction free!
I just watched an ignition review of it on youtube. They seem to work real well. Pity they are in cannon form. Id prefer just a pipe you add in line to the whole system

Old idea, new technology. I made a pair of stainless straight through pipes for my GT Falcon in 1975. They were simply spring loaded and I had to operate them with a choke cable from inside the cabin. Great for sneaking up on people, opening the pipes and giving it a rev. Also opening them up driving through a tunnel would have cars scattering. Not that I'm advocating them mind you.

I put a twin outlet on the rear of my BridgePorted RX-4 (I know not Soarer related) and it quietened it right up. Now I can deafen everyone or be fairly silent at the touch of a button. Lost a bit of top end power though, but now not worried about losing points or gaining any Canaries!!

Is it legal?
It's not illegal to have on your car however if you went to an EPA test with it on/enabled you would fail, it's exactly the same as turning up with a silencer on, unless it's welded in (permanent) it fails, this applies for Victoria.
