Just spent the cup weekend kicking my interiors ass into something (IMO) sweet as.

Painted the obvious bits black and used hand cleaner and steel wool on the Ivory bits to get them clean as. Also trimmed the parcel shelf.
Haven't had a chance to affix the SAFC and AVCR gauges back on the dash yet and I got some black seats on their way so just gotta get the gear stick boot re trimmed in ivory and its all sweet

Each section of the sunroof trim clips into the sunroof housing with two plastic tabs and metal clips. It comes off by pulling it straight down, I used a screwdriver to gently lever the trim off, but despite that one of the clips broke when I did it. I bought a replacement piece, put it back and left it the hell alone. I would suggest gently leverage one side a bit, hold it open and then lever the other side, and repeat until it comes off.

Nice, one of the better conversions.

Cameron, what are you doing with the door panels? Not going to have the mixed matched black parts like others do?

Thanks Mike,

I forgot to put any pics of the door trims.... they're done too. Ivory stayed, got a good old clean though, and the brown window surround got painted satin black with the little plastic bit done in gloss black.

I'll have to post some more pics when I get the stereo back in, gauges mounted and black seats in

How did you get the dash black? What paint or dye did you use?

hey bill,
I used VHT vinyl paint, you get it at autobahn ect....

Decent cheap way of doing it if you take your time and dont skimp on the prep work.

If you do a search on VHT or just peruse the interior section, there is heaps of info and tips mate, should be well enough to get you going.
Cheers

I also used hand cleaner (the stuff with grit in it) and steel wool, the fine stuff with pink soap on it with a wet sponge to clean all the crap off my ivory coloured bits, Works really well

It makes SUCH a big difference changing that brown to black i reckon.

Mine is still going strong and looks pretty shmick , i have only had a few minor scratches on hi use areas but nothing you can see unless you look right up close.
