I bought one of those TRD manual shifters for my soarer and I've replaced my factory shifter and this is what I looks like.

I've screwed it on as hard as I can - surprised I haven't broke it, but it just doesn't seem right. It's much higher that my factory shifter and there's a gap between it and the boot.

Can anyone relate to this?

did u get the correct shifter? Different models have different fitment. My slips over about an inch before it contacts the threads and sits flush with the boot

It said it was for Soarers when I bought it. Obviously not though.

I'll just have to try and shave off some of the inside to get it to slip down further.

I had a similar issue with mine, it sat higher than the stock gear knob. I have subsequently installed a short shifter so it's the opposite now, the bottom of the gear knob is around the same height as the plastic surround! Looks pretty cool and shifts so much better
