I've got the opportunity to pick up an '98 model MR2 steering wheel though I'm wanting to retain a functional airbag.

Could anyone confirm by looking at this plug whether it is the large single stage connection?

pre-2001 are all single state. This is a single stage bag.

btw that white plug is for the horn. the yellow plug is for the airbag

What threw me off was reading that '98 - '00 had a smaller connector? And pre '98 was larger?

Anyhow, time to upgrade my wheel

I think they changed the connector around 98. it is smaller. You can buy the adapter (adapts from big to small connector) online. I have a spare one sitting at home I think.

So just to double check - the connector in the photo is the larger compatible version to suite the Soarers plug? Thanks

I dont think so mate. it looks like the smaller plug to me.
