HIIIII ^_^
I was slowly dribbling myself out of my car last night after another satisfying drive home from work and started to notice how distinctly different my drivers seat looked to my passengers. Different in a bad way as well.
It is starting to look tired. 13 going on 14 years of life is starting to take its toll, and i can see the outside stitch line thing becoming more and more pulled. My seat is dying =(
So what is the obvious answer? SEAT COVERS! (Unless someone has cheap cheap seats they can sell me?)
Im not a fan of any cheap crummy thing you might find scrunched up at supercheap or similar, nor do i want to see my baby in cheap threads. Whats the solution?
I have a friend whose wife is a fashion designer and very good at having things embroided with her super computer powered mega stitching machine 4000 v2.4 (Came with a free set of steak knives im told).
What i intend to do is source myself some nice comfy (but not fluffy like a sheepskin) seat covers which have the same appearance as the stock fabric ones you find mainly in the TT's and then pass them along with some sort of hyper-Griffin logo to this friend and have the seats sexified. Perhaps having "Soarer" (or "Soaring" ;D ) under the logo.
Before i do so though, i would like to know if anyone has any thoughts, comments or rants about these intentions. Do you?
I havent sourced myself a griffin picture for her to work with yet, so if anyone has anything they think would be appropriate i would really appreciate a copy!
If anyone has any design ideas they think would work i would be very interested also!

Sounds good Callum- we have considered sheepskin ones, but your covers idea sounds terrific. I don't know that you'd need "soarer" if you have a Griffon embroidered. Some of the Lexusers would prefer an "L' of course. There are variations between models and of course there are colours to consider as well. So there won't be "one size fits all" approach possible- but the variations are small, and having watched the big embroidering machine here (for Norfolk Island shirts etc) any colour for the Griffon is possible, in fact it would need to be a minimum of 2-3 colours (say red with gold edging, diff colour for eye).

I was thinking a single colour, Mike, with the logo embroided on the ~neck region of the seat. Some people have "Lexus" and the "L" logo over this same region on their seats, however they arent covers. I was looking for the same effect.
The interior on my car (all grey) is one of the things which sets it aside and makes it some "special edition" car, so i would really like to find covers which look the same as my current seats and have the logo embroided.
There is also the potential to get more made up by this lady (for a fee of course). Money for her, people get nice seat covers with embroided logos of their choice. *shrugs*
I must get in contact with her and ask about it. She may even be able to make up the covers herself!

i am very interested callum. I too have been looking for a decent seat cover. the only problem is that all the available designs seem to have a very cool dragon on them or super mega racing team. I quite like the look of the throw over type design. ------>
except with out the nos and with a little sexy gryphon... maybe even incorporate a bit of that lace into it. that would make it very pretty

We got em on a Mitsi Diamante from Japan, and although they look a bit "Nanarish", they do a good job of keeping the seat trim in mint condition, plus ya just throw em in the washing machine when they get grubby (specialy the headrest ones )
