So i presume there is a noticeable difference with the new filters in place.??

I only just fitted the front ones this afternoon, when I took the photos, and have not driven the car since.

With the air purifier filter though, we had noticed that if we turned it up to high then the smell was distinct. It was tolerable on a low setting. Now, setting the air puri on high no longer makes things worse. I have not been in enough traffic to find out if it makes it better.

I am expecting that the normal slightly stale smell in the car will go with the new fronts.

If not, I have a barely used bottle of Boss handy...

It is often harder to pick the absence of something rather than its presence and this is highly subjective but, regardless, I think the car felt fresher, especially when I got back in to it after the first drive around.

David, my car always goes quicker when I've just washed it..... I think it's because it's lighter once the dust is off

So true. I should have mentioned the lower drag because the air could flow in through the vents more easily.

David, the part number you mentioned before for the front filter ("88508-24010") How much did that set you back? Roughly how long did it take to arrive?

Cheers, mine is filthy / black like your old one, would love to replace it as I don't fancy the smell of smoke. :-(

Morgan, they cost just under $49 each. There are two of them (identical) so the total is nearly $98. I ordered on Monday and collected Wednesday from Toyota in Phillip in Canberra.

You say there are two, meaning one in the front, and one in the back?

I've taken out my front one, and it folds in two, isn't that just 1 item? As they're connected.

Thanks.

Morgan stick your head back under the dash you will see a little bit of plastic in the end of the slot, pull it along into the hole and you will pull another filter out.

David, are there two different filters for the purifier. Mines a 91 and it looks very similar to yours except for the colour

Yes, I mentioned the different part numbers in my first post, in the archive to this thread. It may be bad news, unless you are telling me you have managed to get one for your car. If so, I think some other people might love to know where and at what price.

Nice wheel cover there. Why haven't I got one of those?? Why is your fuel tank black? The side bits to your wheel well have one compartment each where mine has two. Little differences.

No, I haven't found a new one. I took the old one out and washed it. Probably destroyed any filtering properties left, but at least it's clean. The wheel cover came with the car. I thought all petrol tanks were black.
