The stock soarer seats are hardly adept at keeping me seated when turning a hard corner. He's driving a TT from his profile?
Nothing wrong with doing it in the n/a 6 anyhow i'm sure they can take a corner just as quick as a TT/v8. The soarer seats have barely any side support, not to mention the weight saving you'd get.
Most race seats are fixed though...i do know recaro has some adjustable as well as electric adjustable ones. I highly doubt they use the original seat motor though?
In my opinion i'd say for the lightest seat get one that is fixed that you feel most comfortable in. If your gonna do it you might as well go all the way...

Exactly !!!! - if you're doing trackdays, make a bracket to bolt the seat to - 1 piece seat in 1 position only (fixed back). Rails and electric seats wont stand up to a 220 kph smack into the wall. The last 'street car' that I saw at PI which they peeled off the wall; had the drivers seat ripeed from its slide rails in a very ugly way.
