It was a sad sad week last week... one of our beloved 32s has met its maker...
I dont know this bloke, or even know if he is registered here on central.... dont even know his name.... what i do know is hes is a friened of a good mate, and owned a 32... therefore a smart fellow... well kinda.
now wait for it.......
Apparently on Croudace St Newcastle (a 50km zone) the 32 had reached the speed limiter at 178!! lost it, hit the curb.
i'm not sure what happened next... havn't seen any photos, but apparently the roof was leveled down to the body of the car... i'm guessing the rest of the car was pretty messed up to.. a write off.
the lucky guy came out of it fairly injured but alive.

this is second hand info, but yep... thats what i have been told... reliable bloke... a mechanic actually
The road in question is dual lane, straight and down hill.... i would say easy to reach that speed in a 32... not that you need to be going down hill!!

Damn. Hopefully there will be some '32 spares become available. One must always look on the positive side. Charlie, It would probably be easier to rebuild the '32. It has also made mine just that little bit more exclusive. Its sad to see such stupid acts in such a awesome car, but it's good he lived. I guess it shows how good these soarers are built.
That's like a story I heard of a VL driver, big engine work yada yada.. been waiting for 3 months for the car to be finished (was in the panel beaters), fang'd it out (it was raining) and collected himself.
Poor 32... but serves him right for doing 178 in a 50 zone (if that's indeed correct).
Ok maybe I should have put a smiley at the end of it instead... I'm not smearing anybody on this forum David, yes it was selective, I connected the dots and as a result I actually found this text funny, you didn't. I'm not referring to Lincoln at all, I'm saying the 32 driver was an idiot (wasn't he?) Lighten up a little

Hey I drove down that road last night and yeah mmm well he was a lucky person.... I'm gathering it's where it happened as it's on the downhill run and there's a couple of solid black lines across the road.
He woulda been hoping that the light was green as he was coming down and he is lucky there wasn't any cars coming up the hill.
Stupid behaviour round the city his just lucky there wasn't anyone else around he could have injured

Ok ok I'm the stupid idiot... although the facts above are not correct, this still doesn't make up for what I have done.
Firstly I'd just like to say sorry to the people's front yard that I went through.
Secondly I'd like to say to others on here that do speed on the roads that it is not worth it, it feels good until you become unstuck (straight away you know that you have f#$%$% up), then getting carted off in an ambo to the hospital doesn't feel good. So just don't do it, I think the only place for it is the race track.
At the moment I have a broken ankle and back (L2 fracture) and pelvis (SI joint). I have lost my beloved Soarer (insurance doesn't pay for stupidity), have no income, and have fines to pay.
But at least I am alive, and I think this has a lot to do with the Soarer.
I have learnt from my mistake and will never be doing that again, and I hope some of you guys can learn from my mistake as well, because it just is not worth it.
