Hello everyone,I was recently nearly a victim of a scammer. I have my TT on sale on car sales, I was contacted by a person stating that he wants to buy the car but he is over seas, he said he would send a pickup agent to retrieve the car after payment. After a couple more emails he said that he would use pay pal and would need me to wire money to his agent ( which he will give me $1,100) cause he didn't have a credit card and isn't able to transfer the money any other way, he insisted in me using westernunion to this address:

Transport Company UAB"Kuršiu Linija"

Address: Mark Amos,
#112, Moarville Road, Speke,
Liverpool,L70 1AB
United Kingdom.

He wanted me to pay the $1,100 from my own money and I would be credited immediately. Well I was very suspecious at this time, then when I told him I couldn't find the money in my account or pending and i havent received an email from pay pal, low and behold 2 emails came. The person is a dumb ass cause he sent them to the wrong email address, the address he sent them to were not linked to my paypal and paypal wouldn't send it to my other email. So I sent the email to
spoof@paypal.com and they returned to me saying it was indeed a scam!

I went off my head!! I'm sooo lucky the i am so anal about this stuff and that the alarm bells were ringing!

The point of my story is to watch out when selling your car, and if you receive emails from any of these people martinpaul1980@yahoo.com , andrew.cole@ymail.com or paypalaccountantlink@emailaccount.com. tell them to F**k off!

They use plenty of other names. It is a standard scam and you were right to get suspicious.

The principal indicator is that they ask you for initial money when it is supposed to be them paying you for the goods.

When I received one while selling my car, I observed in reply that they said they would have no problem paying me more than the asking price so they could feel free to pay me the price plus shipping from which I would pay their agent. After that, the line went dead.

A good way to get a laugh is to say to these people I will only deposit the money under one condition.

You must Send me a picture with socks up at knee height, shirt off and holding up a sign saying "I like teh cawk", Some of those people are very very desperate.

A BMW i looked at buying before i looked at soarer's on car sales turned out to be a scam, id done so much research on it, just off the vague info in the add i had tracked down the actual owner of the car and tracked his path across the internet/ various forums found out all the problems he had ever had with the car, where it was parked and what had happened to his past cars, i could have gone and checked it out infront of his house ( i had worked out where the actual car resided ) literally tracked the out of this car because i was so keen, then when i decided to contact the seller listed in the add it was clear it was a scam unknown to the actual owners.

The car itself and all the info i had gathered was legit, was a car in Brisbane and i knew everything about the car and the owners but the scammers obviously just nicked a few pictures off various forums of this car aswell as the specific details about it, was the usual iv just gone to England to set-up a dental surgery and can make payment via western union blah blah car is in a container in WA ( when i knew it was a Brisbane based car ) usual Nigerian scam crap.

Believe it or not a friend from work made three payments totalling over $3000 to these people Kim. I can't believe that people fall for this crap but they do.
