| Hey All Have had someone break into the shop and steal the following parts from the 94 JZZ31 i have up on forum last night..so we are thinking its someone who knows me and whats on this car as it hasnt been hear long, not many peoiple have been in shop and what was stolen was very specific from this car then a couple of random parts here and there. They took 97 skirts and all moulds weathersheilds flip out cup holder so if anyone sees any of these bits for sale etc let me know Also took CD players some lights and speedo cluster thats no good. I mean the take time to remove all moulds and skirts they knew what they were looking for. Though police did get some really good prints where they broke in so see what happens there. Tks |

| That is crazy Daniel. Definitely someone who has been to your place. It's not easy locating your place when I picked up the black arm-rest the other time. And the 97 skirts as well... Isn't that already sold? |

| Thats no good Daniel...sorry to here that. It's unfortunate that there are low life scums out there that think that the world owes them something and don't pay their own way. Mate your business is growing and unfortunately the bigger it gets the greater the chance of these things happening....time to upgrade your security. Don't let this get you down , you offer a great service and I hope those aholes get caught All the best |

| yep the same skirts you were going to pick up aaron... i have looked gumtree i think they are going on whoever took them's soarer... parts i can deal with they took my jack which is knackered..a light and some tools which annoys me..its more of an inconvenience i have been looking to move anyway to bigger place so guess this good reason.. They were also lucky as there is a guy wo lives no more than 5metres away from my door, and normally he heres everything that goes on but didnt that night..so he is on alert now...and I dont suspect him as he doesnt even know what a Toyota Soarer is |

| One Arabic law i agree on. If you steal, they chop your hands off so you can not steal again. Sucks to hear that Daniel, hope you find the scumbag who did it. Should do if the cops got their prints. |

Too right! There is some fabulous info in old thread, even in some ancient ones. This isn't an info thread of course, and I sympathise with Daniel's loss. Pity I missed the bit at the time this thread was fresh about "Arabic 'law'" could have had a field day with that one |

| I am familiar with the word, and the concept. Aside from punishing "adultery" and "fornication" in a severe manner (thereby taking much of the fun out of living I question the need for a punishment like amputation of limbs (thereby making the alleged perpetrator useless to himself and society) especially given the judicial background of those countries practicing hudud which practice torture routinely, and where the burden of "guilt" often falls on the poor, usually blacks- either slaves, since slavery is still legal, believe it or not, or the descendants of slaves, who are often poor.} |

| Granted, as i had said in my post. the majority of hudud laws and punishment are in my opinion completely stupid. Yes i can see your argument being somewhat valid where the removal of limbs makes the perpetrator useless to society, the argument being that if said perpetrator keeps his limbs what use would he be to society with his limbs still intact? Other then the ability to steal again would they really contribute to society knowing that they have the ability to take what they need? Petty theft does not lead to loss of limb. My case in point is to have a look at our jail systems, most people in jail are repeat offenders meaning although they could contribute to society they choose not to. As for it falling on the poor, yes that is a concern but as i was relating it to Australia (as the crime committed was in Australia) and fingerprints were found. The person should be clearly identified thus eliminating the probabilities of pinning the crime to those who are less fortunate. Yes it my be a bit over the top but having said which. theft is very rare in countries that do practice this. |

Theft is rare in countries which don't, too. I can understand peoples' anger when their cars and homes are violated by theft- it's happened to me, too, although not recently. Such anger gives rise to suggestions that practices like those in Saudi Arabia "work" to prevent such crimes (and they may well do- at the expense of living a fulfilling life, and the presence of crimes we don't have, or the punishment for "crimes" such as fornication which we consider laughable). It would be laughable if so many people (especially women, in Iran) weren't being barbarically punished for nothing. |

| Theft in countries that don't is still more common then those that do. Yes theft is still fairly rare but they are opportunist here. Leave a new Iphone somewhere in Saudi, come back an hour and it will be there. leave it in Sydney and it will be gone in 2 minutes. |

Wish every town was like your town Mike. Unfortunately around here if you drop something, better make sure you didn't want it. |

I was being a little facetious, David, but it is true that country towns are often rather more "honest" than big cities. I think it's the same in most countries, not just Australia. |
