Thanks for the kind words yall! =P

Forensics didnt turn up a single print on the car =( (HOW GOOD IS MY WAX JOB!?)

They put that powder all over it as well.. im gonna have to wash and wax her again now =P

Found out when i got home today that another house on our street was broken in to.. thats 3..

The f**ck must have gone in a line.. started with one, then the next, got to mine and had big eyes..

Its just a pity luck was on my side this morning >.>

I liked that idea someone had about having a small atomic warhead in the spare tyre hole. (Who needs a spare?). Theif gets in, drives 60secs down the road and then wipes out half of Perth, then NOBODY gets the Soarer! =P

If he did get away with it, i would have got a chunk of cash back off insurance for it so thats no biggey.. but what frightens me is that because my car is such a standout (as is nearly every Soarer) car, they cant have a hope in hell of selling it or keeping it, so it will have had to be torched...
And no Soarer should have to be put through that ='(

It's a worry, If it ever happens to me and I don't catch em, you'll here about it here. If I catch em "Sorry I don't remember, last I recall is seeing this piece of trying to steal my car and it's all a blur from there. how he ended up deaf and blind is a complete mystery to me. Knee caps? I know nothing about that either!"

Not good to hear Callum.

This 'commissioned theft' has me worried. If there is a request for a modified soarer, well, there can't be THAT many in Perth.

Just as you pointed out though, if they were to steal one of our cars (especially one with private plates as well known as ours) then they couldn't get far without being recognised.

Pity you can't execute the

Or, you could set up a timer...say 1 minute after the car is started without entering the de-activation code, it deploys the airbag.

If you saw how much wreckers charge for replacement airbag systems you'd probably think of a cheaper way O_o

Anyway, this thread highlights how important it is not to leave your keys in obvious places around the house!

wow, living in the NT, we get the same probs. Lost my camry a few years ago when some ***** bastard climbed through my first floor apartment, took the keys....you can guess the rest.

Happens alot in NT, you gotta take your keys and wallets in the bedroom with you. Get a lock on the bedroom door, these pricks dont care if your home.

I know of an auto electrician who wired a spark plug into his petrol tank which was controlled by a kill switch. Now if that SOB had tried to start that mother, it would've been "find the body part if you can!" You would've got him but lost your car, sort of a catch 22 I guess!

Not very sure about the law as I am a good boy but I think that'd be a great way to get yourself done for premeditated murder or whatever the equivalent is.

Guys I would say you are going too far talking about commissioned thefts. I would say this potential pumpshed user was walking down the street or something one night and has seen Callum's car and thought it is worth a bit, not bothering to think he coldn't possibly sell it. Or more so the case he might have stolen the car, then used it to commit other robberies, then torched it. If it was an organised theft someone would do it right. Plus the fact this guy seemed to be going house to house.

The forensics guy and us have a theory going.. he broke into the house for a normal burg, saw the keys, grabbed them and went to the most obvious garage, was lucky that he grabbed the right keys and you know the rest.

If someone had have scouted out the area they would have looked in the shed where i normally park it and not the garage it was in that night.

The guy looked like he shat himself as well, so mabe he wont be back around.. for a while, since he knows how scary i am =3

My car got broken into a few months back, I returned to my car to find 2-3 coppers walking around my car looking at it and in it with torches. I immediately assumed the worst and thought they were waiting for me to come back so they could defect me.

We saw the cops, did a 180 and went and sat down the street and waited 2hrs for the coppers to leave, when I got back to my car I saw the broken glass and my shoulders sunk. Luckily nothing was taken, just a broken window.

The coppers did leave their card on my passenger seat requesting I go to the station to get fingerprints taken and whatever. I didn't go out of fear they'd defect me.

LOL :-( Call it paranoia.
