tonight i tried the trackday mod on the soarer. Ive got a manual soarer, its meant to have a white square come on on the dash? Does the manual dash not have this? Is there anything on the dash i should look for that will simbolize the suspension is in the stiffened mode? I took it for a drive and it seems slightly stiffer, but it could just be my mind

i've never noticed any handling difference when the white square was showing. one thing to check is to make sure your wire is pushed far enough into the socket. good connection is vital.

It only has any effect if you have TEMS. UZZ30's and a lot of TT's need not apply.

when you have the wire bridge connected, if you turn on your ignition but dont start the car put your ear over top of the TEMS cover and it should click/tick several times i think about 8. this is the valve inside closing up. and the white square should be next to the clock/warning light display screen. not sure on manual i have auto and it makes a massive difference i live out of suburbia on a country road <a >. but i have driven fast in nice cars on this road bmw's alfa romeo gt audi and the soarer takes the bumps always without a clunk or nock but all the others bottom out.

OK, obviously i had not pushed the wire in or it didnt have contact beforehand. Just went out and played with it and indeed the manual dash does have the white square and the shockies tick. Awesome, cant wait to see how it effects the handling. so happy haha, obviously i suffered from placebo, thought it was stiffer before. Will find out for real now. Thanks mate

i tried this a while ago and found it makes it a lot stiffer but i thought it also jacked up the ride hight but it could have been an illusion has anyone noticed this

It shouldnt jack the height up, i havnt noticed difference. From my understanding it just shuts of the valves within the dampener, effectiveley restricting the rate at which the fluid can move, in turn stiffening the ride up. So shouldnt effect it i wouldnt think

Doing this on my Celsior, the difference was amazing, much stiffer! It was like a sports barge then. Gave it a jiggly ride and made the PS stiffer too.

yeah makes a huge difference, im in the process of wiring in a switch so i can turn it on and off as i like from inside. Then i can have it soft for cruising and harder when i need it

Remember, the TD mode can only be reset on ignition off i.e. it cannot be turned off when driving

Has anybody tried making up a switch direct to the shocks with trim pot etc to manually adjust the TEMS? One (semi dodgy) way I found of doing changes on the fly (apart from PWR button) is wiring a switch from the diagnostics port suspension pins and quickly switching the ignition on and off using the turbo timer to keep the engine running. This depends how your timer is wired up but mine seems to only supply power to whatever is needed to keep the car running and not to what does the start up checking etc. |

HKS (and other) manufacturers make aftermarket TEMS controllers. I have one in my MA70 and it has a total of about 5 different settings.

Is this mod a lot stiffer than flipping the switch to sport?

Yes. Changes all shocks to their stiffest possible settings. I had it permanently wired like this before replacing all shocks with new TEMS ones.
