in defence of the nankang, on a previous fwd car i had the 1st set of 17" rubber i got when i put 17's on it were the nankang ns2, whilst cheap and crap as people state, they lasted a reasonable distance, same cant be said for the yokies that were on the gf's same car

and in comparison to the wanlis fitted later on were much better, and on another car same size austyre tyres replaced the wanlis, and werent as good as the wanli, austyre are remanufactured, but they were and still are the only 225/3520 thats a 95load rating making them legal on that particular car

i have $300 15" contis on my other car, and the soarer stocks to the road better on it's elcheapos, maybe cos its a ton heavier, but the new tyres i have do really well in the torrential rain we've had today, i had to really try to do fishies, the turanzas on my 16" stockies dont need trying at all

Some price on khumos, they are selling them straight fromt eh dealers, a bit dodgy as it will kill tyre shops sales, but I guess they need the sales in this economic time

KH31 - Lavendar scented

KU31 - Good for street, not for drift

KU36 - Street legal semi-slick

KU23 - Good for street and drift

KU17 - Good for street and drift, quietest directional tyre made by Kumho, supposedly 30% grippier than Federal 595s.

Marshall 712 - Good for street and drift

Also, for those that don't know, the Kumho KU36 is the street legal semi-slick which makes a great steer tyre for drifting or for high hp cars.

Much appreciated. I'm planning on trying the KU31's next (seems to be a nice tyre) and the sidewall seems stretchy enough.

I running Federal SS595's... and swear by them.

Mind you my car has never seen the track, and probably never will... but for my daily spirited driving needs, these things are faultless and affordable :-)

So DID a lot of drifters. Until a few people were blowing them on their first lap out. Brand new. This happened numerous times too.

You might say, "but I dont drift", but you still get the tyre hot, and I wouldnt want to be doing a 1000km trip and have one delaminate on me.

Just a thing to remember, drifting is testing the limits of diff drand tyres for you.

If you want more info let me know
