Hi all,
probably asked already a million time, but simple a question nonetheless,
will the standard struts from a TT fit the V8 Limited. I have a collapsed front strut and want to put standard struts in.
Is it a basic bolt off/bolt on option. I'm thinking it is, just need it veryfied by someone that knows.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers Fran

Will a set of TT Tems struts plug in to the V8 Limited loom and work?

The front springs on TT, and V8 have the same part number, but different numbers for the rear springs between the TT, and V8.

I just fitted new KYB shocks to my UZZ30, and made it ride a lot smoother.
Now I am thinking of doing my 31.

I have fitted a set of KYB's to my uZZ31 as a rear bag blew out towing. The front are 48510-24150 and rear 48530-24170. I don't know whether to remove the adjusting rods or not and any of the suspension fuses. Any info would be appreciated.

Ian, had the shocks on the UZZ30 gone stiff rather than gone soft?

Peter, yeah, thats what it seemed like. It was rougher than with the new shocks.

At least I now have a full set of springs, and hats to do my 31 if I go that way. Just buy new KYBs again.

Probably no need.

Here are some brief notes I got from Pedders a few years ago.

When my mechanic swapped the airbags for springs, he took two fuses out!

One in the engine bay and one in the driver kick panel.

The 20A fuse is in the driver kick panel.

Thanks Peter and Daniel for your help. I filled the tower grommets with black silicon and looked at the two fuses. I was not sure if leaving the rods in may limit the spring travel etc. I found a pump in the front and what looks like a storage cylinder hooked together along with valving, and electricals, If I remove these do you think it will alter anything electrically?

If the 2 fuses are removed, you can take out the compressor and other bits not needed now.
Wont make any difference.

I drove Peters 1997 UZZ31 the other day, and it has very good condition air suspension.
It would have to be the best riding Soarer I have been in If new air strutts were cheap, I would definately put new ones in my 31.

Just gotta do some homework I think

And, thanks Peter for letting me drive it.
Was good to meet you.

No doubt it would be cheaper to put in coils, but the ride of a good air system is unbelievable. It changed my way of thinking thats for sure.
And, thats why we buy a 31 in the 1st place is for the ride quality I guess.

Glad to meet you both too Ian.

Consider that my 31 is 12 years old and has 100k on the clock - makes me wonder what it would have been like straight out of the factory.

It still has the original bushes too.

Can someone describe where the air sus driver kick panel fuse is exactly, I can't find it and am thinking it's in one of the smaller fuseboxes to the left of the main one

OK I have removed the two fuses and flicked the boot switch to OFF, and am still getting the OFF error message on the dash. Is it OK to leave the boot switch in the ON position or have I pulled the wrong fuses?

Ideally I would like to remove the pump and computers to sell so want all power to the air junk deactivated.
