How hard is it to change the rear wheel bearings, and what are the parts i will need (part number if possible)? I think it is the wheel bearings anyway. It's making a regular whirring noise that gets faster and slower with speed.

Make sure its not your tires before you head down the wheel bearing road Adam.
Dunno how much the price has changed, but when I bought a set of rear wheel bearings with seals from Toyota it was about $500 (not including installation) a year ago. They are the biggest car wheel bearings Ive ever seen but damn thats expensive!

I sourced another set of hubs cheap which meant I could replace the bearings at my leisure , takes about 1/2 hour a side to swap the hubs over , much less hassle . It also means you don't need a press , you can just drop the hubs and bearings off at any place that has a press . At the same time I fitted 95 or later model dust shields [ new $50.00 a side ]means that if you go big brakes later the alloy 4 piston calipers will go straight on with out having to cut/bend the original shields .
