NEVER take short cuts with suspension! a mate had a rear link fail due to old age and a life off 400+rwkw... he was on cruise control on a strait bit of road when the left rear toe control link failed allowing the left rear to kick out sending the car spinning several times across 3 lanes of traffic into a crash barrier...

so that was a link with no sign of external damage at all! do you really want to drive around with a home straitened link on your car?

No signed of damage at all.

Only damage on the car is a couple of knocks in the front barrier.

I've heard of Axel tramp before but don't know what it means.

Off to Google i go!

Doubt that is the cause.

There is a very clear mark (from the pics) at the center of the kink where the paint has been removed.

Looks like a classic mark and example of a jack or stands being used in the wrong location.

Yeah it definitely looks like impact damage rather than stress or torque. Could have gone 4WDing and bottomed out?

Yep, looks like jacks stands, jack lift or hoist lift on the arms, which would cause both to deform almost the same time. No damage to the mufflers or rear, so 4wd bottom out would not be likely.

I've seen kinks in these factory arms from severe axle tramp, but not bent like in the pics.
