Hey all. I have a celsior with twenty inch rims and slightly different size tyres from the front and rear.

I had 245/30/20 on the rear and recently got the front done with 225/35/20. I am unsure whether to put the 225's on the front or the rear and vice-versa.

Before anyone asks, I gave the rims to a friend who works at a tyre shop and told him to put 245/30's on there, he delivered them to my house with 225/35's on saying they are all the same. So I have not really thought much about it. I do not do any spirited driving in this car what so ever so im not fussed about that.

Thanks professionals.

Wow, remind me never to go to that tyre shop. Yeah, a 245 is just the same as a 225.

The narrower rubber should go on the front of the car. Running narrower rubber on the rear just feels weird and tends to promote tramlining. Up front it will help the car feel a little more nimble, promote turn in etc.

If those wheels are 20x8.5 like most other big chrome jobs then 225 would probably be a better fit than 245.

Rolling diameter is as near enough as makes no difference. Speedo will read fractionally higher on a 225/35 R20, but its only around 1%.

Thanks guys. I have left the 225's on the front.

I had a vision of the oldschool cars with cheesecutters on the front and massive tyres on the rear so thought it would be OK.

Yeah if he didnt do such a good price on the tyres I would have slapped him. He even managed to lose a center cap from one of the rims at the shop too.
