Hi all, Yesterday while turning the corner the wheel scraped on the guard, thinking we had a flat tyre we pulled over but all seemed fine.
Then driving down the freeway it started scraping really bad and worse when we hit a slight bump. We turned off the freeway and pulled off the side of the road. On inspecting the wheel we noticed the passenger side guard was sitting on the wheel.
We called RAC and was towed home. It looks like the passenger side air bag has gone.
It was all fine the day before, no warning signs at all.
We called a few people and no one will replace it. Can anyone tell me where i can get a replacement or whats the best way to go.
Liz

Same thing happened to me. No warning, just a horrible height and a big lean. Careful you dont wear a hole in the plastic guard. I managed to get a second hand set of airbags and swap them over. Is it a front or a rear air bag thats gone? Check the Buy and sell for a second hand set?

I wouldn't bother with a second hand one except as a stop gap to getting a new one - they are all going to be at least 13 years old now, and no strut lasts that long and still performs properly, even if its hardly been driven on it'll be below par.
Best bet would be to replace with new, or if that's not within budget go to ordinary dampers.
