Noticed recently there is this squeaking sound on the right rear of the car whenever i go over any uneven surface. Anyone has any ideas/encountered something like that before?

The ride is still smooth so far, no drama, just the sound whenever i go over uneven surfaces.

Not on a Soarer, but I've several attacks of the "boot budgies" in other cars - usually been a shock on the way out or worn top hat. Soarer rear suspension is a bit more complex than most though, so could be any number of things.

im pretty shore my shock squeaked a little before it blew and after that it felt like the arse was missing heaps of bolts.

id jack it up and check around that area for any signs of leaks.

or it could be the boot squeaking I've had some cars do that as well. i rubbed small amount of rubber grease on the seal and it went away.

OMG !! mine is doing the same thing and i thought it was the brake pads! but it only happened when i hit a little bump or uneven surface!
how i now know its 100% the shocks is because my mechanic said to me a month ago "YOU NEED NEW SHOCKS YOURS ARE LEAKING AND FCKED" haha

that doesn't sound good, how much are these going to set us back by? Anyone with any recommendations and experience?

I'll have it checked out prior to making any hasty decisions. Thanks for your input guys.

If it's shocks, they are pretty cheap - I got two new KYB shocks (same as the OEM's) for the rear of my car about 4 years ago for under $300 NZD - took me about an hour and a half to fit them - easy job but you will need a spring compressor.

If it's the top hats - can't say as I've never had to replace them on a Soarer - I replaced them on a Nissan Laurel I had once - specifically the seating rubber which had perished leading to squeaking AND clunking - can't remember how much the parts were but it was pretty trivial.

If it's something else like a bush, no idea as they vary so much.

Honestly, i am going to have the car jacked up but don't really know what to look at or look for, if something is broken i could probably see it. Other than that, due to my inexperience and close to zero mechanical knowledge, i doubt i will be able to identify much.

Is there any posts that you have came across that have pictures to what i should actually look at?

My car has a little rattle/squeak in the right rear of my UZZ31. It's the internals of the shock.

Which car is it happening on? I see your sig shows two cars. If it's the UZZ31 then it's not cheap because of the air suspension (if you still have it).

Mines been squeaking for a long time now and still going, I've just been two lazy to get the new air suspension put in.

Its the JZZ30, surprisingly for the 20 minutes i was driving today the sound didn't surface at all. But i'll still have a look at it.

to be honest if you havent replaced your struts yet, might as well. Unless you want to SLAM the car, get OEM Supra suspension that gives it a nice, manageable drop. or Gixxer_drew setup

Mine currently has Tein Gold Suspensions, so i'm thinking it might not be due to the Suspensions as they don't look that old.
