Hi guys,
we have a few sources to r154 short throw shifters here in Canada. They will only work if there is no linkage between the trans and the shifter (does the shifter go directly to the transmission like on the MKIII supra?
I took a look and noticed that my shifter lever is bent towards the rear of the car but could not determine if there is a linkage.
My understanding is there is variations between the years.
Please let me know,
Thanks,

thank you Don!
I will be buying this new shifter and will let everyone at soarercentral know how it works for the r154 on the early soarers.
The reviews on the MKIII Supra have been marvelous. Hopefully this will lead to the soarers finally having a cheap, high quality solution to our shifter problem.

what ive wondered was why did they go to a remote shifter? I would think that a direct setup would be more reliable as its a sealed unit. Also is there any difference in the interals of the trannys or just the shifter mechanism. Sorry for the offtopicness LOL

Neil , if your shifter hits the trim then you have most likely got a Supra box in your Soarer. The build plate will possibly say "Trans/axle a340e/ao2a
Its easier to source a supra box than a genuine Soarer r154
