Well after a year or so of wanting one of these celsiors now and then, I finally decided to get one and found a really straight and tidy example with low mileage of only 102,000kms (Cam-belt done 89) Even better it's been owned by its original owner since new in Japan till now, he had it imported privately to NZ in 2002. :-)

Heres some pictures. :-)

yes, very clean. very nice.
now that i have a look at the velour interior celsiors, probably would make me want to get one and put some garson leather covers over the top. instead of paying the extra for old/cracked/discoloured leather.

Very nice Celsior. I have the exact same car, blue/grey paint and cloth interior although yours looks even tidier, and that is super low kms for the year (mine has 140km). How much did you get it for only if you don't mind? Also, the orange oil light under the speedo...what is that for as I have seen mine come on briefly over the weekend...anyone know?

About the air suspension in the celsiors, is it rather reliable? What are common air suspension parts to require attention on a car of this age? IE replacement or servicing?

Mine seems to be working fine, I just don't want to push it too hard through corners etc in case it stresses the 17 year old airbags out with extra load while cornering etc... Am I being too pathetic about it? Or are they pretty durable and strong?

Mike..like UZZ31, they are 17 year old, perhaps people who drive them do not throw them around the corners as much as soarer drivers tend to, so in theory they should last longer.....errrr, one problem = weight on the car itself!
They are heavy and bouncing all that metal over 17 years will cause them to fail sooner rather then later.

Yeah, well Its not really a problem as Im getting Adjustable suspension eventually to replace the air struts etc. At least this way body roll will be minimized & they will be problem fee. Air suspension is nice but its just tooo pathetic and doesn't really do that much considering what a prick it is when it packs up...

That is weird, it does seem to have two oil pressure lights!? Maybe one is for oil level, and the other is for oil pressure. hopefully for your sake its the former rather than the latter.

Hi Matthew, yes surprised too, thats why I wanted to ask. I see the red oil light and thought that must be the normal oil warning but the orange I was not sure...has the waves under it? Anyone know more? thank you, Warner.

Ah yes, I already have, Its soo much more quiet than the soarer was, especially between the engine and cabin, Love it...

What I like the most about it is the BFI I did on Saturday, it has more of a V8 Roar compared to my soarers one which just wasnt so crisp, more of a droney V8 intake. Best part on the celsior is when it gets past 3500rpm you can really feel the peak torque and hear the V8 engine sucking air like mad. Bloody brilliant!!

Theres not too much to see, all i Did was cut the front section out completely of the strange circle intake with a Jigg saw and file the rough edges down. Then put the top covers back on, you wouldn't even know! :-)

I will later If you really want?

Wouldn't you get some hot air being sucked through your filter?

I think Blair did something very similar.

Yeah probably a bit, but Ive still got that long intake bar feeding cold air to it, Still it feels more free reeving and certainly sounds like its got some go under the bonnet now. :-) Im happy.

Yeah pretty much the same as Blair's, but I sanded the cuts so they were not coarse. :-)
