Trying to replace the infamous lower ball joints and I've hit a snag. I've borrowed a pic from the excellent www.lexls.com to illustrate - the ball joint/tie bar that he is removing in this pic needs to have the nut taken off the bit where he has the puller attached. He's already taken the nut off but on my car the nut just rotates with the ball joint. This is a similar principle to the anti-roll bar links but those have allen key sockets to hold the rotating part still...the ball joint in the pic doesn't.

Firstly, you did remove the locking pin (no offence) and if so then try turning the steering full lock to put pressure on the tapper section and then turn the nut.
