Hey guys! I recently bought a Celsior and have come to notice a few problems/issues. I don't think the car has been in Australia for that long, maybe this year the middle it of last year it was imported. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced similar stuff or knows how to go about fixing it. Firstly, my fuel consumption is really high, around the 20l/100 mark, its mainly urban driving and I'm not a heavy footer, with just the occasional boot once in a while. Second thing is I get this vibration at around 60kms and upwards, but that has somehow died down a bit, it used to be worse when I got the car, but since I've topped up the oil, its not so bad anymore. Next is my TRC light, it comes on when starting and then stays on for the duration of the drive, but it doesn't do this all the time. Following that is the cruise control, after setting it, it will stay on cruise for a few seconds and then shuts itself off, i've tried it a few times and every time it does the same thing. Lastly is the idle, when the car is warm with no a/c on it idles around 190rpm, with the a/c on it bumps it up to around 200rmp, this is not a big fuss for me as the car runs smoothly, I was just wondering because my mates V8 soarer idles higher then that. I've done searches but can't seem to find much stuff that relates to or helps my situation, so any help/advice would be very much appreciated!

Thanks!

Ok. First thing you need man is plugs caps rotors and leads. That would be why it's rough, you get a bit of vibration and it's idling so low, and the fuel consumption. Secondly you might need new engine mounts. Mine had a really bad vibration around 2000rpm. Replaced engine mounts whole car is smooth as now. The other stuff I'm not that sure about. Someone should be able to help ya.

Good luck :-)

Simon,
My car has similar issues with Perrin. Could you tell me how much usually these things would cost?
Thanks

Alright I recently had an entire fix up on the car and I had to have quite a few things replaced. My car also idled very low and shook like crazy when sitting at the lights next thing that happened was the car was missing cylinder... the cause was the ignition leads From Toyota the ignition leads cost me $438.80

haha. talk to Rich O'Neil. He will get you plugs caps leads and rotors (laser ngk sparkplugs, sti leads) for around $400 landed (from memory) hell of a lot cheaper than toyota parts, and better too.

Thanks for everyone's input. I still haven't got around to changing the ignition gear but today I had a good look under my car and found the out that the prop shaft center hanger is probably on its way out as its soft and moves a tad, a couple diff mounts are also cracking an on the way out as well. Could this have been the cause of the vibration? Also does anyone have the part numbers for these items?
