Hey all,

Ive got a celsior, and i am going to be gettin the timing belt service done on it, can anyone tell me what should be done/serviced/replaced on that service and roughly how much i would be looking at when i get it done?

The parts that I know so far are:

Timing Belt
Idler Pulley
Serpentine Belt
Water Pump (if required)
Thermostat
Oil and filter
Air filter (have a K&N so not much of a worry there)
Plugs were changed at the last service
Tranny service with type 4 fluids

Anything else i should get done? and how much roughly should I be looking at, im trying to not use toyota, but if i have to i guess i have no choice.

It's a huge, horrible job - will take a 1UZ savvy mechanic at least half a day, and longer for someone who has never done one. I'd say budget to spend $800-$1200 and you'll probably be on target.

The kit's I normally get which are the timing belt , the tensioner , the idler , the water pump , crank seal , cam seals plus the thermo gasket , plus the serpentine belt and the two bearings for the serp idler and tensioner come in at around the $560.00 mark which is way cheap , the offer from Lextreme would come in close to the $400.00 mark and that includes both parts of the tensioner so that's incredibly cheap .
I will get you an exact price in the next few days .

apexi doesnt do panel filters do they? only pods?... im not going to change to pod because of the tight fit of the 1uz in the celsior engine bay, it would draw hot air, which can cause damage to the engine... and ive had the k&n in the car since ive bought it, and hasnt caused my MAF any problems at all
