Just purchased a 1992 Celsior C-F with 83,000km through an auction in Japan 114,000 yen $950 CDN. I have been lurking for a few days and the forum looks great! Just wanted to say hello! Here are a few pics (Car is currently in Japan waiting for a container to Canada). Hopefully it's not a wreck when it gets here.

Excellent Buy Mike thats a very good price!
anyway, Im sure you will find the site most useful.
Ive got a celsior too, has gone perfectly for almost 5,000k's and is just such a quality car, goes even better with my maintenance and upgrades.
I'm sure you will too enjoy yours a lot, plus being C-F pack has all the extra bonus features as well as leather. Unfortunately mines a C pack so doesn't come with them but suits me fine as Id only get people fiddling with it too much.
Hope its as good as it looks when it arrives! Good Luck

I've heard rumors that they are trying to change the law over here as well to prevent all the right hand drive cars coming over. As long as I get my ride in before they change anything I'll be happy!
So can you bring in newer Celsiors 94+? They still look relatively cheap on the auctions (at least the site I was looking at).

Gday Mike, no, we cant import them easily anymore. Used to be that any vehicle over 15yo could be brought in, but that changed a couple of years ago. Now the cut off date is 1st Jan 1989, so its stopped off alot of the imports. Apparently, some of the manufacturers, like Toyota especially, lobbied the govt. to change the laws because they didnt like anyone bringing in 15yo cars, they reckon it was going to hurt their local used car business. Cars newer than 1/1/89 can be bought in, but they have to go through an extensive compliance process which makes them alot more expensive, and even then, its only vehicles that are on an allowable list which is basically cars that werent sold here new. Yes, alot of dealers really made a killing a few years ago, and good luck to them, but its very sobering to find out just how cheap the cars were at the auctions in Japan, as compared to what was being asked for them here.
