Hey guys, I'm trying to find a second hand/new center bearing and hanger, as mine has gone a bit soft causing some play, which could be the source of my vibration issues. I've had no luck so far with the wreckers. I've tried Jap Wreck, Jap Parts Plus WA and Just Toyota Wrecking. Though one place will sell me a complete soarer shaft, so I was just wondering if the V8 soarer and the Celsior have the same shafts? Also can any one recommend some other places to try around Perth that deal with Jap parts new or used. My last resort if its not to time consuming will be to drop the shaft out, take the hanger off and see if I can knock the bearing out. Any other Recommendations would be considered.

Thanks

Ouch. Try looking at Lexus wreckers. CBC bearings might be able to help.

Give VEEM engineering a call mate, they are pretty good with that sort of stuff. I think from memory the XR6 centre bearing is very similar.

I can get you a new genuine center bearing [ no one makes one aftermarket ]but you won't get much change out of $200.00 and it's about 6 days away .

I went to Prosser Toyota today and they were no help at all, which is nothing new. I just thought I'd give it another go. Definately won't even bother going to Lexus to ask about it. Last time I went to Lexus they told me to go to Toyota. Damn! $200 golly gosh, neva thought it would cost that much. I could wait 6 days if need be as I'm not in that much of a hurry. Most of the time I don't get the vibration as I'm cruising around 60 and its fine, its just when I do over 65 thats where the vibration starts to come in. Thanks any way Rich, I'll contact you, if I have to order the bearing. By any chance would anyone know the part number for the bearing hanger itself? or know if I could use the V8 soarer one as a substitute? It just saves my car from being off the road for a couple weeks. Thanks guys!

Perin are you 100% sure it's the bearing...? Cause mine looked dodgey but it wasn't causing the vibration, mine was a rear bush, even tho it felt like the centre bearing. Check the rubber pieces that connect to the box and diff too, one of the ones on mine was pretty screwed so it would have been moving around...

Well we think its the most likely cause at the moment, as the shaft has a bit of play in all directions around the center bearing. By the way, are you talking about the flexible couplings when you say rear bush? I'll get the car up on ramps tomorrow and have another look around to see if I can spot any other mounts that could be contributing to the problem.

i could physically move my back wheel side to side, like it had it's own steering or something, but of course very minute, but enough to make a terrible and panic-inducing vibration. We thought it was the centre bearing. Mine had play as well, turns out it wasn't the prob at all tho. Shake your back wheels :-)
