Interesting that a lot of the guys that frequent the LEXUS (LS400)american forums are wanting the Celsior gear. Particularly badges etc to make their cars stand out.
'JDM'ness is very popular in America. Much more popular than it is here (I suppose because we have the ability to drive JDM cars).
You get a lot of 'street cred' for having JDM bumpers/lights/grilles/badges/etc.

I bought mt 1990 reg'd CF from Japan in 2005. By the time it was here and Australianised it was a tad under 17k.It has been without doubt the best car I have ever had. My wife has had lots of different cars in the mean time, Beemers, Calais, Statesman and I used to have a Benz....but the Celsior is the best. I have had to replace the rear pump ups and the A/C went a bit haywire this summer, but that's really been about it, and it still gets admired every day. Of course I had to alter the exhaust just a tweak so it sounds like a V8 but it was money well spent as I love listening to it, problem is what on earth am I going to replace it with one day??

I feel the exact same way. I always say that I'm going to keep my car until I die but I know that's probably not going to be possible. I just wouldn't know what other car would match up. I like 300C's but they definitely don't have the same luxury feel as Celsiors.

My Celsior cost about $13,000 to get on the road back in 2005 imported from Japan, bought clear indicators, grill & debadged it.
I've been shocked at the depreciation of VVTI LS400's, their was an immaculate 98 model with 122Ks for $15,000 on carsales a couple of days ago, if you look right now on tradingpost their's a 98 201,00kms, 12 months rego some peeling paint on the bonnet & front guard, $8,500 negotiable, oh the humanity!!

paid 9k for mine 12 months ago. as it stands, it owes me a touch under 17k now.
mods from front to back are:
- clear indicators - LED indicator bulbs - LED driving lights - LED corner lights - crystal front lights with HID projector retrofit (not complete) - AU thermos with digital controller - K&N drop in filter - coilovers - 19x9 19x10 rims - 7" touchscreen HU - all interior globes LEDs or SMDs - 10% tint, 5% rear - 2.25 twin exhaust, stainless mufflers
i have no idea where the money goes but i keep a spreadsheet and it sure adds up fast - especially maintenance and consumables required to keep this beast purring.
