Right well to give me an idea of the reliability of these celsiors Id like to know how many kms yours has done, and what - if any problems you have come across when owning. Also add what Pack model it is and the year. Cheers!

| Mike, I don't own one (As ya know) but the pwr steer pump leaking into the alternator is the same deal as a Soarer. Lower front ball-joints are a common wear item on the old bangers, as in 89 - 93. Other than that not a hell of a lot goes pear-shaped other than the AC display bleeding, and turning blacker than a Negro's bum, and the dash display getting dim, and the needles loosing intensity (Celsior/LS400's answer to "Blinki-dash"). And of course the good old Air-struts will go "Poof" eventually........then you'll be shelling out a few clams!. And prolly some other odds n' sods, but NOTHING major either physically or financially.

Yeah Ive read about the Power steering steal leaking on the alternator... dam annoying! All those small interior faults Im not too worried about at all. Local wreckers should have some bits and pieces for that area.. Hopefully. Lower ball joins im willing to fix. Considering they make quite a difference and were not to expensive - $170 was quoted on Planet soarer celsior section. Im happy with those kind of prices. The area Im most focused on it that super Air Suspension! TEMS...... Considering that CF pack celsior has done 129500kms It should be all functional. When I look Ill really have to check up close, all four struts etc and test all the TEMS settings - plus test turning the car off as ive noticed some sink at the back when the pumps are all off! What Ive noticed is they tend to start leak around 200+kms So I suppose this ones a while off from going 'poof'

Ive got a 1990 C-F model with 130,000kms, I replaced the alternator 2 weeks ago as the power steering fluid had killed the alternator apparently, I have'nt had any other problems except an interior light dying which I have'nt yet replaced.

Mmmm, Mmm. Ill have to ask the guy selling this celsior about the power steering leak.. Seems to be pretty common on these v8s. Since yours is a C-F Model hows well do the rear seat functions work? Ie the massaging and the reclining features. Ever had any problems with that area?

All the rear seat features work okay, not sure about the heated seats haven't sat in them long enough to find out if they still work, the back seats recline as you would expect, the headrests work fine, the massagers work perfectly, not much to say everythttp://people.aapt.net.au/dirkmirk/myweb2/hing works as it should, ive got plenty of pictures on my webpage if thats any help,

Actually you've reminded me of the 89 Celsior that's down here in New Plymouth. The dude's asking $2.5k(NZD) for it, and it's a piece of CRAP. It looks like it was deck cargo on a submarine . The front air-struts are well poked, and it wallows along the road like a drunken Llama on Prozac............basicaly it's OINK! Central. The dash is stuffed, the upholstery's worn n' torn, cracked lenses, rooted AC pump etc etc. The engine clatters like a REALLY clattery thing, but dosen't smoke, unlike the owner judging by the 5 million fag burns on what's left of the seats. Trent at Totally Toyota told me that the guy tried to sell it to him for wrecking, but when Trent offered him a thousand clams, he was apparently less than happy HaHa. I think it's best use would be as a Chook house, and then ONLY if ya really hated ya Chooks!

Wow Blair. Nice celsior. In one of the pictures 1/2 way through what is that thing on the roof with the push button? Is it factory or a feature you put in? Also is the 122kw dyno with the engine unmodified?

The Car was 100% stock standard when it was dynoed, I'd love to get an exhaust system but Im going to be broke for a whilst saving up for rego and insurance. The thing with the button is a tv screen and I think that was a factory option.

122kw stock is pretty dam good for a 1990 car. I suppose with a decent exhaust - perhaps remove the rear mufflers up the the stock headers, should be up to 130kw at least? Would cost a fair bit to do though.. At a professional exhaust shop Still it would noticeably faster than standard. Plus the main advantage is that you get the v8 sound...

| Yeah Mike. Ask the dude if he has ANY objection to an AA inspection (Or something similar). If "Yes", then walk, coz obviously there's a hidden agenda. But I think that it's cheap at the money, BUT, since he ain't got no wheels to replace the currently fitted ones, I'd be crunching him to $5k(NZD), THEN, negotiate from there.

Ill try get him down to the low 6k bracket with the wheels its got. Ill just have to work on him a bit... Its been therefore a coupe of months so i doubt it will sell fast.. Ill have to tell him that! Still it will depend on how good it is in person.

Yes! Ill just have to hope it all works out as I have plan and the guy is willing to drop his price by a Grand or so. Regarding the wheels, It would be quite a hassle try find cheap (would be small) wheels for the celsior then, jack up all four wheels at the guys house and put the cheaper ones on... Plus these celsiors really need large 18" alloy wheels. small ones just make them look out of proportion and 'uncool'! The ones on the celsior do suit the car. Good size. Alot better than those XV1s on my old soarer!! So I really want to buy those with the car and still get the price down.

You must be able to tweak the speedo's, or swap them. There is a 1990 CF in a Fyshwick car yard, with 87,000 K's. Bullshit!!!! looks like it has done at least 190,000 K's, worn steering wheel, worn gear knob, seats carpet, etc., and they are dreaming at $17,900.00. cheers Chuck.
