Greetings Soarer owners, I have recently joined the Soarer crowd and purchased a JZZ30 TT completely stock Soarer, I would just like some confirmation from experienced Soarer owners on the products I will be using in my first service since I bought the car.

I’ve had around a dozen soarers some of which i did over 400k without having to open the engine or auto trans. Here’s my opinion:
Engine oil i used to run HPR 10 but found the 5W40 to be much better.
Trans oil ONLY use toyota TIV (type4). Anything and you’ll be changing your trans.
Spark plugs i only ever use BKR7E in all my JZ motors. Tried everything else but found these performed the best and last for ages. DexIII for power steering.

Thanks Ross The oil I have for my transmission says it's suitable for GM Dexron III, And the lady I purchased the champion plugs from said they were platinum plated and are the same quality as an NGK plug. as for my engine oil I was recommended 10W-50 as I am running twin turbos.

I’ve had twin turbo soarers since 2002 so i’m Pretty familiar with them.
I tried GM Dextron III it’s a good way to kill your trans. Ended up dumping it after a couple of days and spent the money on proper toyota fluid. These transmissions are very sensitive. You might save a bit of money using cheap oil but it will cost you more in the long run when it starts slipping and eventually fails.
As mentioned, i used to run 10w50 and it’s not as good as the 5w40 as it takes longer to build pressure.
I tried platinum plugs as well as others but you’ll find the copper plugs work better. I had smoother idle with platinum but noticeable loss of power.
