Hey guys,

Well at least one of my pulley bearings has started making an annoying sound so I guess its time to replace them. I have never actually replaced them on an engine before does anyone have any documentation on the propper way to do it and what bearings to use etc?

Which one is making the noise? Most of them are attached to some piece of equipment such as the alternator, power steering pump etc, so the first thing you need to do is track down which one it is that is causing the problem.

Its usually the tensioner bearing that goes first.

Well I had a listen and its stopped :S Maybe some water from the rain the day before got on the belt some how?

I'll keep an eye on it but it seems to have gone away which is weird.

How often is the belt suppose to be replaced? If it does start up again I may replace the belt at the same time if needs doing anyways.

V-Belt will last for ages. I put one in my car about 60,000 km ago and its still looking pretty good. I had to replace my tensioner pulley about 40,000km ago.

Thanks for the feedback. How do you like it over in NZ? I was thinking of checking it out at the end of the year.

Well I was born here so I'm probably biased, but I love it. Do come in Summer though - late December thru to late March is the best time. Of course if you want to ski come earlier I guess.
