Ok i changed the clamps under the Power steering fluid container with the ones you screw in

no more leaking at the top which is good. Looks like some lines below are leaking when running

no more grinding when turning the wheel which is good however when i don't turn the wheel the grind makes a sound?

Ekrem its a bit hard to tell from your vid but I assume that the fluid in the active suspension reservoir is at the correct level. Theres no mention in your post that this is correct.

Ekrem the suspension dipstick as tucked between the air cleaner & the body. Its hidden a little, looks like a bit of bent wire. If it's low on fluid it squeals loudly. Running it while low will cause pump damage, which is expensive to repair.
Give us a bit of history of your car, whats its build number?

Hi bud

Checked and looks like fluid is in there

Looks clear and is twice as high as the signed part on the dipstick?

Is it to high which can cause the noise?

Cheers

Tim

Build number is #149 the owner was Aaron Mitchell who is a member on here.

He spent 10K on it had the pump rebuilt for suspension fixed heaps with it then later sold it to another guy who neglected it I believe.

A younger fella bought it and was gonna build it up wasn't even running when he bought it .

He had 10 cars at his house and had to sell some so I bought it and now weeding out the issues with it which has been a pain lol.

Own a uzz31 so I knew what I was getting into when going a 32.

Here is a pick when Aaron owned it years ago

Thanks Ekrem, Good to see another 32 getting up & running, hopefully. No, fluid too high wont cause them to squeal. Bit hard to diagnose over the net but it seems like you've isolated the noise to the Suspension/power steering pump. Best not to drive or run the car till you've sorted the problem. As I said earlier damage to the pump can be expensive & difficult to repair. I've got a 32 (310) which has major leaking from the rear struts so I've removed the pump belt (easiest was to cut it!) so I can move it around & not cause further damage.
Yes they are difficult to repair & maintain, but in my opinion they are the only soarers worth the effort! You are lucky thar some of your parts have been previously serviced & may not require repair. Both mine, 790 & 310 were untouched original, 790 has had a full suspension rebuild, 310 will require the same.
If a 32 is what you want & are prepared to go the journey then a 32 is a rewarding car to drive. Warning, it may not be easy or cheap!
No one knows what they are getting themselves into when they buy their first 32! I didn't but now have 2!

Ok cheers Tim.

So i can leave the belt of and drive it around? I will get the power steering lines all replaced as they look to be cracked and leaky.

I did find a post on soarer world from smiffie said noise can be caused by this part under the drivers side wheel

http://www.soarerworld.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=15064&stc=1&d=1223589762

Apparently the filter inside melted. Might be an issue?

Looks hard to remove.

here is the post on page 2:

Yes it wont hurt to drive with the belt removed but I wouldn't suggest that you drive it on the road, you will also have no power steering.
Yes there is a filter in there that requires cleaning there is also a filter in the reservoir, accessible from the rh wheel arch, remove the front inner liner. You will have to drain the active fluid. It takes some cleaning. I carefully disassembled mine for cleaning in solvent & assembled it with urethane. Will post some photos later.

Some outdated nonsense I believe.

He's been pretty helpful for me though :-)

I bought some 32 struts and parts off him this time last year.

Hey Tim,

I've been looking around for the 20mm hex bit? Bunnings, local shops repco, tool shops etc only go up to 19mm.

does this need to be ordered from somewhere?

Sorry it is 19mm, just checked. I got mine from total tools. I'd post a photo but can't work out how to get the s5 to lower the resolution that much.

Checked nothing wrong looks new inside

I did notice one other think the pulley for the hydro/PAS pump seems to have a slight wobble maybe a bearing?

Is it easy enough to remove the pulley and check and put back on?

Ok guys after looking and looking i've found the problem area.

The crank pulley where the vane pump belt spins on was causing the whine the whole time.

I'll replace the entire assembly in the next few weeks and the engine part of my build will be done so far.

Tested suspension worked fine lifted no worries.

Right rear wheel is stuck but ill get to that later.

Cheers for all your help!

Well done. I'm interested to know exactly which pulley it is. Post a pic when its done. What do you mean by wheel is stuck? Strut is stuck? Up or down?

I've found the two bearings. The idler and tensioner for the hydro pump love to go bad, when I first got my 32 they were shocking.

Maybe this was the issue?

Hey Tim

When I get some time I'll pull it off and check it out at least ive isolated the issue.

What I mean about the rear not lifting is it lifted before now it sits on the ground even during suspension test doesn't lift rear right only.

Jacked rear up tyre won't rotate prob stick caliper rotates fine driving obv.

With the tyre removed it sits ok when I put it back on it pulls the strut down and it just sits there low as. Seems to slide freely when I push the strut up and when I pull down it stays down.

I'm thinking the rear needs a rebuild.

Sounds like a problem with the valve body more than just the strut. Try extending & locking off strut to see if it holds pressure. My latest 97 does the same on rhf, havn't looked into it yet.

So I gather 32s are heaps of work? Never been in one. Would love to go for a drive one day. They handle better then coils I've been told.
