Hi Guys,

Can you advise who is good mechanically South and North of the river in Perth WA?
Who is your preference and why?
Also a good spray painter?

Thanks, much appreciated.

Howdy Grahame, Welcome!
You'll find this question has been asked quite often. Try the search function, also look in the V8 Mechanical section. The best Mechanic I've found is Phils Mech, Maddington (South). I don't often venture over that river, so no need for one north yet.

Thanks Ken,
I've actually had my SC400 since January 2000, and a few years after when I had a problem I discovered Dave at Dave's Precise Suspension, I have taken it there ever since. However its a long way (Wangara) to go to leave a car there for a day or two (I usually use the RAC towing) but recently I met a guy with a soarer who said there was a guy he swore by in Willetton, But I cannot remember who?
I have a problem at the moment with it starting and I've been told that it might be a fuel pump problem (I've been told they have two). I just need some one local, but want someone who knows what they are doing. Rather than leave it with someone WHO THINKS he knows what he's doing!

But thanks anyway, appreciate your help!!

Grahame.

Only one fuel pump located in the fuel tank. More likely to be a problem with the pump ECU as they are known to eventually fail.

You can test it by fitting a bypass jumper into the diagnostic socket (use search).

Hey Guys,

Just a postscript to this story, I took my "babie" to Phil's in Maddington and left her there for the day.
Phil was great and his knowledge was comforting, the result being problems (and some he discovered) fixed and I drove home with what felt like a new car............ throughly recommended, and I am extremely happy with the results!! Thanks for the info greatly appreciated.
