No.

No V8's allowed.

Says so right on their site

QLD Transport wrote on , , High powered vehicle restrictions

A high powered vehicle restriction means that you are not allowed to drive what the law calls a “high powered vehicle” on a road.

If you are:

* under 25 and on your P1 or P2 licence
* any age but on your P1 licence after being disqualified for an offence which happened when you were under 25

then it is against the law for you to drive a high powered vehicle on a road.

The law says that a high powered vehicle includes:

* an engine that has a power output of more that 200 kW
* an engine with eight or more cylinders
* a turbo charged or supercharged engine (but not diesel powered engines).

You can apply to Queensland Transport for a certificate of exemption if you need to drive the high powered vehicle for work:

study, medical treatment etc.

EDIT: Year of Birth: 1949
Well actually I'm lying because you're over 60 years old you can drive whatever you want. Even on your P's

Keith;
there is only 2 ways your daughter could have got away with it.
1; if the car was in her name before the new ruling was put in place.
2; if she can get a letter from her employer stating that she has to drive high powered cars as part of her employment.
other than that she will have to wait until she is 25

She doesn't have to wait until she is 25, she only has to wait until she is 20.

You can get your P1 at 17 and you have to stay on P1 for a minimum of 1 year, you then can get your P2. You must hold your P2 for a minimum of 2 years. That's 20!
