Very good decision indeed.
Lend your spare ones to me when you are not using them. We are in the right city

Assuming you can tolerate not having all variations of optional extras, that means you will have six cars.
V8 4.0 with coil springs
Twin turbo 2.5
V8 4.0 with air suspension
3.0L six
V8 4.0 Active
Single turbo 2.5
One of the V8/Air and Active will need to have the EMV and the other not, just to get the major variations right.

I think you should have fun with that lot, but which one will you drive today?

I am not sure about the 4.0GT (V8 with springs) but everything else exists in the ACT (with friendly owners on this forum) if you want to see the cars and hear the owners rave about the reasons for their particular choices, their advantages and disadvantages.

When is the next ACT member's meeting?
Maybe I could come and sit quietly in the newbie corner?

What are peoples thoughts on having an import company find me a Soarer in Japan, that matches my requirements and shipping it over and compliancing it?
Imports seem to be much cheaper now than say, 6 or 7 years ago.

I'm starting to swing towards a UZZ32 now.
Are they more plentiful in Japan, compared to Australia?

Is there much difference between an '91 spec 32 and a 94 or 95 spec 32? I mean, should I be hanging out for a particular year's model over the rest?

Michael... just bite the bullet... I did! Bought a car currently in Japan, from a guy I've never met in Queanbeyan, who will have it complied in Brisbane, for registration in Wodonga and finally to be parked in my driveway in Melbourne, whilst I'm in South Africa. Couldn't be simpler.

All you have to find is one that is in good nick with genuine acceptable km's on it.
There has been an engine upgrade along the way (may '95 - only 13 was made of these) but the earlier ones are more plentiful (although only 873 made in total).

You can find the production dates here:

And the production history here:

With a UZZ32 most of them are now in Australia and other places out side of Japan.
Some times it is better to buy one here, as it can be looked at.
Neil said he knows one for sale! So if you are ready contact Neil and go have a look.
With a UZZ32 there are hard to find and you will have to take it as is and look after it!
I got mine a few months ago and still did the suspension service and it was the 6 last one ever made. But still so nice to drive!

Colin

did you have to have all four corners re-gassed. If so was it expensive?

You can do it yourself if you have a bit of mechanical knowledge.
I've just got my active on the road and its absolutely fantastic to drive.
Checkout this link for my buildup.

Michael, I was just trying to suggest is that you shouldn't be too worried about buying one from Japan unseen if it's what you want. I'm sure someone here will be able to sort out ANY problem the car might have, just make sure the price is right and factor in that you will have to fix a few things. Obviously the delivery time is much longer. If a 32 was an e-type nobody would think twice about buying from OS.

Does anyone know where I can pick up lower control arms/balljoints complete for a 91 UZZ31 V8 Soarer.
