I just realised how wonderful this forum really is thanks to our team of decent blokes that operate and moderate it. On a weak New Zealand BMW forum I go on occasionally, it's full of muppets on the "I own a BMW" high horse. Problem is most of them are the base models 316-320is and so on. The other day a thread was started by this idiot that was pulled up for having a loud exhaust on his otherwise stock Automatic 316i, so he was asking what he should do (Sigh) So I clearly stated put it back to stock and then proceeded to comment on how uttlerly pointless having an el-cheapo muffler on the back of a road going 4 cylinder budget bin BMW was, based on the reason it sounds unpleasant. Which in turn stired up a few people owning 316i and 318is to get all upset saying theres nothing wrong with exhaust on them, and they sound good (how delusional!) But anyway, cut to my point the weak moderators deleted my constructive comments about the noise issue along with all the other related comments. I thought how pathetic is that, you can't even have a fun little internet argument! At least on here we have had LOADS and they have been every entertaining at the best of times. Guess thats why I still come here. Plus theres that nice Eye Candy window ------>

On the day that I could be arsed to run a forum, I would allow less abuse of a personal nature. Noting my complete failure with regard to the first part of that sentence, this forum entertains a breadth of views and argument without censorship to an extent which is unusual in my internet experience. For those less able to work it out, the above was a compliment. 4 uthaz, dis 4rum iz sik. cheers.

I think the reason a lot of people like this forum (and why i specifically like this forum) is because its active and most people come in to help first and tease later. There's very few posts which literally are teasing and nothing constructive. Most people here all share common issues with the cars so its generally worth listening to even a total noob without a clue, becuase there's a chance that a good reply is going to help them someday too. And thats really that, its very rarely "My car is faster than your car, my car has more BMW than your car, i'm more prestige than other cars" although there is plenty of (well founded) pride. Well thats about as nice as i can be in a single post

ughhhhhh stupid BMW forum again Some loser put a post up of his rusty 'turbo' 318i POS thing, lime Green paint, chromes, el-tacky etc. And I just put the usual Soarer Central puke face gif to share my thoughts, and THAT was deleted within a few hours. Honestly, the admins just go through and delete any posts which aren't positive. SIGH!

| Another thing, Oh my gosh, some of the members on that forum need to harden up. Some muppet linked a page to a fake M5 he saw. I said the following: Mike Beck wrote on Friday, July 16, 2010 - 04:59 pm:QUOTE (Mike-E36 @ Jul 16 2010, 01:33 PM) It's so pathetic when people waste their time and money doing the above... Its what is under the body that counts, not some pretty exhaust pipes and body kits. Sigh.
THEN............ later on some nerd came along and had a go at my negative post! Random BMW fool wrote on Friday, July 16, 2010 - 02:59 pm:QUOTE (Sigh right back at you muppets. It's good to see Bimmersport snobbery is stil alive and kicking. What is with all the hating? Why is it so pathetic? The last time I checked, this was a site for people who like their BMW's, not a mock and laugh and evryone else site just becuae it doesn't meet your exacting standards. The old saying goes "if you haven't got anything nice to say STFU" Did you even stop to think that maybe he bought the car like that and it is not as if the seller is advertising it as an M5. The seller is advertising it as a Motorsport which it obvioulsy is. I think it looks great and a 2.5 litre straight 6 is not exactly a gutless engine.

Haha Mike, some strange units there by the sounds of things. And as if a 2.5 straight 6 will has much punch, they need forced induction to move. Granted it is a BMW engine, and it's probably quite well made, and very smooth. Easily better than anything offered locally in Australia. But lets not kid ourselves, it's still not huge power.

Hah the number of tossers in clapped out badly modded BMW and mercs that try and take you on at the lights here in hamiltron isn't funny. What is funny is that 90% of the time my slow ass 2jz-ge doesn't even need full throttle to stay ahead of them.

Euro badge slaves. They just think they own the road a stupid mind trick to think they are superior to others, a sense of dictatorship as those types of cars were driven by those type. The Japanese cars of the old were humble. Can't say so for this generation of Japanese cars.

Yeah they are pretty boring. I just think they are a good base to change around, I mean I wouldnt have one stock standard, HOW BORING. As long as it has the M-Tech sports body kit and a non OEM engine under the hood then they are of interest, wont be long until the 1UZ is running in mine. Funny that 1 year ago I hate them. HA |

The "current"? 6 series looks quite nice - don't know anything about it mechanically though? And the front is a bit ugly.

I would agree too Matt. I saw a 6 series coupe 650i, up close a few days ago , but the front leaves a lot to be desired, they would have been better off just putting a 5 series E60 front on it. The headlight/body line just looks to mundane. Otherwise the profile is rather nice, excluding the soft top, awful!
