I was wondering if the new post flag can be made to relate to a username rather than in a cookie. I'm between about 4 different computers and it would make it easier to see where I'm at. If its not too difficult.

what do you mean dan? mine relates to the user whether i am at home or work, it checks for new messages since i last checked, no matter what computer i was at. Did you still want that spare TT wheel?

Avin is correct, it goes with the Username. Maybe your PC's are using different Usernames?

I had the same problem at work. But come to think of it, I don't think I ever logged on! Ahh it all makes sence now.

If I'm away for a few days, checking on a different computer, When I come home it gives new flags for everything I already checked while I was away, ie, it flaggs everything that was new since last time I logged onto that particular computer.

No idea why that is happening Dan. I occasionally check from home and it just picks up where it left off. Is it actually logging on at both PC's? On the other hand, I can also log in and not do a New Posts check until later, and it hasn't changed the flags just because I did the login. While I don't have the resources to analyse all the code, I am quite convinced that it works on the username doing a New Posts search and nothing else. When you use the other computer, how far back does it go? Just to where you last were on the normal PC?

Dave, just a thought, you need to have cookies enabled on both PC's so it knows who you are to do the check.

No, it goes back to last time I checked on that particular computer. I'm talking about the flags that come up on the lhs of the topics, not anything to do with the little button at the top.

Oh, Avin, I could live without it now, I'll have a set of 17's soon, so will have one of mine to use as a spare. But If you're holding it for me I can pick it up this week. I'm in Melb at the moment.

OK, I don't pay any attention to those. Just get the habit of using the New Posts button and all will be well |

Yep, I went to a lot of trouble to make nice features like that, so USE THEM! (or I might have to sulk a little).
