I was wondering if anyone else here thought that including the date of a post in the forum groups a good idea?

I find it a bit confusing not knowing which post is new and which is old. I know that there is now a NEW icon beside some posts, but I still have no idea whether this is a brand new post or simply a new reply to an old post. Are all new posts at the bottom of the forum list or at the top?

I just thought that a date posted field beside each post would be helpful. It use to be like that on the old ALSC site before it went offline.

What are your thoughts?

If I check at home or work it's still the same log-in so checking for new posts is no problem.

Some areas are different in the order, in some cases it was deliberate, in other cases it was probably oversight (KiWi Corner). I will look into it, but have to reshuffle them when I do it.

The best way to use SC is to hit the New Posts button at the top.

This is a really powerful and handy feature as it shows all threads since you last checked it, as well as who has posted and the first part of their post. If you haven't used it before, then you will get a huge list the first time you do use it, but after that it will only show new posts.

This feature alone makes SC stand out from all the other forums using eg VB or whatever software and is the main reason I chose to stay with Discus.

It also means you can do a quick login just to check a particular post or tutorial without losing the list of new posts for when you have time to read them all. By comparison, VB only shows new posts since you last visited, not since you last actually checked for new mail.

If you do a quick login on a VB system, unless you sit there and read all the new posts, they won't be new the next time you login.

Please note, New Posts is only available for registered users as otherwise the system has no way to know which posts you already have. That in itself is a good reason for those lurkers to register even if you don't want to post on SC.

Hey guys,
Can anyone please help??? I have been experiencing this horrible noise coming from the front underneath of my TT. It started off first when I was making a left turn, then started happening almost everytime after that left or right turn. It sounds like a real harsh dragging or scraping noise...It happened when I accelerated a couple of times... If anyone out there knows what it may be please help me out!! I think I am a bit afraid to go to a mechanic not having any ideas of the problem since I am a girl...Thank you muchly
Email would be really great!

Flora, No idea what the noise is, but if it's pretty obvious then it shouldn't be hard to track.

There are some good mechanics around that won't rip you off, and may be able to diagnose it quickly and easily - ie without charging you heaps, or anything if it's really quick to find.

If you don't feel comfortable, get a second opinion and/or tell us what you get told.

Loose wheel?
Check that all the wheel nuts are properly tightened.
Have you changed anything lately? New tyres, brakes, etc. ?

Most likely brake related (anti-rattle clip broken or missing, or dust guard bent and touching something are two very common problems) - it will probably be very simple and very inexpensive to get fixed, but get it looked at ASAP just in case it is something serious.
