Peter,
I have bought two second hand (slow learner!) and one new regulator. I never specified TT or V8 (for the second hand ones) and had no problems fitting all three. I ordered a regulator for a Jzz30 from castle hill and got one that looked different from the others (ie old/new style as in the tutorial) and it fitted easily as well.
Maybe I have been lucky.
I can't see why they would change such an insignificant part depending on engine choice. You would think it would swing further the other way in production line manufacturing- keep the models as common as possible and only change what you have to for the different models.

Pretty sure you will find the difference is related to year of manufacture. I recently aquired a second hand reg from a later model soarer and had to modify one of the top mounting holes to fit it. Also the window does not go all the way up, stops about 8mm short.

Oh ok then. That's kind of strange because i was specifically asked if it was 94+ model and I said yes. Oh well. its fixed. I simply drilled a new hole and put a nut and bolt through it.
