I am looking at buying some new wheels but i am not quiet sure what offset is suitable

The standard ones on my car are

front 7.5 wide 50p offset
rear 8.5 wide 50p offset

I want to go up an inch on each wheel with some decent tyres

I was thinking front 18 x 8.5 and rear 18 x 9.5

but it does not seem like 50p offset wheels are available.

What wheel size and offset are other people using?

What is the max change in offset that can be used on the front before the steering is effected?

could i use 35p or 42p offset?

Any help would be great.

i went to mag and turbo over here in NZ and the guy tried to sell me ones with 20p offset that over a inch different that can not be right surely.

I've been told that you cannot go more the 7.5 on the front due the wishbone hanging out a lot. Was told so by OZZYTYRES

Ive got 19x8 and 19x9 DriftRs on mine, and theres still plenty of room in there!

I'll double check the offsets and post them up later - It drives like stock apart from the slightly firmer, lower springs. Definantly no tramlining here!

A friend had a jzs147 with the jzs161 front sheetmetal on it and had 19x9 20p DriftRs all round, was very low, and had no probs with fitting the rims.

lol @ ozzy tyres!

just get the right offset and you'll be fine.

I have 245's on the front and 265's on the rear. The mags are a lot wider than those tyres, but hey, it wouldnt be VIP without some tyre stretch baby

i think they meant you can't go wider then 7.5 if you want 20 inch rims which was what i was planning to get

Mag and turbo are a bunch of tools. You're probably better off with your local independent tyre dealer, they usually have a much better understanding of what they are doing.

Mine are 18x8.5 and 18x9.5 with 40 or 45 offset I think. No problems or rubbing anywhere. I was able to get 18x9 +40 under the front of my JZX90 and it has less space than the Aristo by the looks of it.

19x9 +32 with a 235/35
and
19x10 +38 with a 245/35 is what I have on mine, fits damn near perfect at the front and once I have lowered the car (when my damn coilovers get here) and rolled the guards ill be fitting a 15mm spacer to the rear to push the tyre out towards to guard to acheive flush fitment :-)

I don't see why so many on this forum insist on staying so close to +50. You should be able to run a +35 without rubbing, plus it will get rid of that 'sunken' look. Any lower of an offset will look great, but be prepared to do some fender work to avoid rubbing.

Offset affects handling and tramlining is why.

Peter the specs on my wheels cause no tramlining...and thats with stretch...and they arent overly agressive...but look 100% fantastic...
