I want to maintain a nice factory ride but with the ability to adjust height. I have been told that bags will make it a harsh ride, possibly bouncy. Is this true? I know next to nothing about this sort of thing and what is available for the Aristo so thought I would put it out there for someone who may have a better knowledge. I have heard of Airrunner suspension but don't know of any others. Some models of the Aristo came from the factory with air bags, yes?

The AWD V8 version does have air suspension, same as the soarer and celsior i believe.
Aftermarket air cylinder kits are either very stiff or very bouncy, depending on how low you want it while cruising. There is a midway point so it rides like its got teins or other stiff coilovers, but my advise is to get a ride height controller if you get the V8 model. Just like soarers and celsior's you'll be able to change the ride height using the stock suspension.
Aftermarket air bag kits are illegal unless engineered (which means you cannot adjust the height whilst driving and the height cannot go lower than 10cm).

I own a celsior with bags. On normal mode it's a nice floaty ride, like driving a boat but cornering you get body roll, so if you put it on sports mode it hardens the bags up and makes it a bit stiffer, but still a nice ride.
Had a ride in my mates who has his front struts replaced and it's heaps better, smoother than a normal car but solid as, 0 bodyroll
Factory toyota bags are good man. Just depends what condition they're in that's all. I run 20s so it's a little bit rougher on mine, but still heaps smoother than a car with springs
